Google Web Rangers 2016

Web Rangers is a global initiative by Google to train teenagers about cyber safety. Every year Google organizes the Google Web Rangers Competition. This year more than 25,000 students participated from both the Government and the Private Schools from more than 90 cities across the country. The contest was divided into 3 Categories - Campaign, Poster and Project. The theme of the contest was " A SAFER INTERNET". The Top 5 winners of this year's Web Rangers India Contest were announced in an Award Ceremony at New Delhi on the occasion of "Safer Internet Day" on 7th February, 2017 .Krishna Pandit, a class 9 student of Vishwa Bharati Public School, Noida was amongst the Top 5 winners of this nationwide contest.He had created an Android app, called “NETORIANS”, to better connect and help users spread the word about internet safety. The App features, voice integration along with options like ‘Tutorians” and “Reportians” to share information and report any cyber safety related issues. In addition, “Transian”, “Passwordian” and “‘Savian” features in the app, to help the users to translate content, generate passwords, and also keep their existing passwords safe.
The winners received Chromebook or Tablet along with Certificate of Achievement and Google Web Rangers T-Shirt.
The Top selected winners of this contest from all these countries will be invited to attend the Google Global Web Rangers Summit 2017 which be held in the Google Headquarters in San Francisco, USA in September, 2017.
